Stop en-route to John'o'Groats or Orkney.  Excellent location to explore the Highland region - 60 miles north of Inverness, on the EastCoast500 route.  Fantastic beaches, excellent golf courses, Wild Cat mountain trail, Dunbrobin Castle and Big Burn nearby in Golspie, plenty of places of historic interest, abundant wildlife including deer, seals and dolphins, RSPB at Forsinard and Loch Fleet Nature Reserve,

Fishing the River Helmsdale
....chilling out by one of the many historic stone circles or Cairns around the area.  The Royal Burgh of Dornoch is nearby with it's Cathedral and the famous 'Jail'.  Tain Pottery and the beautiful seaboard villages including Balintore and Portmahamack a short trip away.  Visit Nigg to see the enormity of the oil platforms at rest there and the 2 car ferry!!  Or go north to Thurso, Wick, The Duncansby Stacks, Dunnett Head................................................

(the most northerly tip of Scotland - Really!!) and Tongue at the top end of Sutherland - a good day out...via the magnificent Strath of Kildonnan...amazing countryside, beautiful scenery, rare and exotic wildlife and golden empty beaches......

Room with king & single bed with wash hand basin - (next to bathroom) - suitable for couples or friends.
Quiet, bright and airy room with wash hand basin, next to the bathroom.  Looking out over the fields at the back.  Tea & coffee making facilities & hair dryer in room.  We have free WiFi so you can check your emails, watch iplayer etc.
I have a small dog and although she is not  allowed in the guest bedroom she does live in the rest of the house......!  Here's what some guests have had to say.......

Within easy walking distance of the beach, village, golf club, shops and train station - and there are a variety of cafe's,  restaurants or hotels to eat in - but please note....this is the highlands and if you are arriving late (after 9pm) things do close early!!

I aim to offer excellent value for money - clean, comfortable, homely, and as eco friendly as possible!  Linen washed in non bio detergents and line dried, weather permitting!!
BreakfastBreakfast is either a simple tray in your room with porridge, fruit, granola bars tea/coffee etc.....OR a full breakfast which consists of juice, cereal/porridge - traditionally made, fresh fruit of the season when I can get it - a Scottish fry up - I am happy to do what you would like - from the usual bacon and (local, free-range) eggs, to smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, award winning black pudding, tattie scones, tomatoes etc  - all sourced locally if available - home made bread, local honey and preserves if I can get them.  The cost of your choice of breakfast is included when quoted.  
Food intolerances and allergies understood and can be catered for.
I understand that you are on holiday so am flexible on times for breakfast.  Just let me know what you would like and at what time.
